KOSCIUSKO — The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department teamed up with New Life Christian Church to spread goodwill to Kosciusko County.

Sheriff Rocky Goshert and Pastor John Lowe put together a program to distribute gift cards to citizens of Kosciusko County who appear to be in need or for just being an upstanding citizen in the community. Sheriff Goshert, Pastor Lowe, deputies and church personnel were out and about making contacts with citizens to lighten the load or brighten the day of those people.  Some individuals were just approached while walking down the street, and others were contacted in local businesses.

Sheriff Goshert advised, “This time of year some people just need a little help to make it through the season and others just need to know that people really care about them.  This partnership with New Life Christian Church has enabled us to reach out to the public in this way and give what support we can”.

Four combined teams from both organizations provided 50 families with a gift card that can be used to help in whatever way is needed. The gift cards were donated by New Life Christian Church’s congregation to be used for this act of caring to the community.

Responses from the public ranged from hugs, tears of joy and even subjects advising of people in more need than themselves and wishing to forward the chain of giving beyond this event.
